This isn't just a list of restaurants; it's a collection of our family's memories and neighborhood favorites. Some of these spots we've been enjoying for nearly 30 years, watching them grow from a small food stall to a beloved local restaurant. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Quick & Classic Thai Meals (Noodles & Rice)

Uncle & Aunt Pork Noodle (ร้านลุงกับป้า)

Why Go: This is my personal favorite! I’ve been enjoying the Tom Yum Noodle from this family-run shop for 30 years, since it was just a small evening food stall. It’s a true neighborhood gem. They also have great Moo Satay (pork satay).

Good to Know: Noodle prices start from 60฿ and they only accept cash.

Kao Ka Moo (Pork Leg Rice Restaurant)

Why Go: For a perfect, hearty start to your day. Khao Ka Moo (stewed pork leg on rice) is a classic Thai breakfast/lunch that will give you plenty of energy for sightseeing. This shop opens early at 7 AM.

Toey Tam Sang (เต้ยตามสั่ง)

Why Go: For delicious "Tam Sang" (made-to-order) Thai dishes at a very reasonable price. Try Khao Moo Kratiem (rice with fried pork and garlic) or the famous Khao Pad Krapow (rice with stir-fried meat and holy basil).

Good to Know: Closed on Sundays.

Nai Phai Pork Noodle (นายไผ่ก๋วยเตี๋ยวหมู)

Why Go: Another excellent local noodle shop to try in the area.

Meng Potchana (เม้งโภชนา)

Why Go: A chance to try Yen Ta Fo, a distinct pink-colored, Thai-Chinese style noodle soup with a unique sweet, sour, and savory taste. This is another spot I first visited almost 30 years ago!

Fun & Filling Buffets

Suki Teenoi (สุกี้ตี๋น้อย) at The Sense Pinklao

What it is: An incredibly popular, all-you-can-eat Thai-style sukiyaki (hot pot) buffet.

Why Go: It offers amazing value for money (currently 219 THB per person, plus drinks). You get a huge selection of meats, seafood, and vegetables to cook in your own pot of broth at your table. It’s a fun, social, and very local dining experience.

Pro Tip: This place is famous for its long queues. Try to go at off-peak hours (like before 5 PM or after 9 PM) to avoid a long wait. It's open until 5 AM!

Kouen Shabu & Sushi Bar at The Sense Pinklao

What it is: A premium, all-you-can-eat Japanese buffet.

Why Go: When you want higher quality ingredients. Kouen is famous for its excellent selection of shabu-shabu meats, fresh sashimi, and creative sushi rolls. They offer different price tiers depending on how premium you want to go.

Japanese & Quick Bites

Sushi Mai Pinklao (ซูชิมั้ย)

Why Go: For affordable and tasty sushi. A great option when you have a craving for Japanese food without breaking the bank.

Thap Li Steamed Stuff Bun (ทับหลีสะพานโค้ง)

Why Go: A perfect, inexpensive snack. Grab a few delicious steamed buns (salapao) or dumplings (shumai) to go.

Convenience on the Go

7-Eleven

Why Go: Don't underestimate it! For a quick, convenient, and surprisingly delicious meal, 7-Eleven is a fantastic option. They stock a huge variety of high-quality, hygienic Thai and international ready-to-eat meals which they will warm up for you on the spot. It's also a great choice for guests with allergies, as all ingredients are clearly listed on the packaging.

Pro Tip for an Easy Breakfast: A great idea is to grab a few meals from the 7-Eleven at Bang Yi Khan station on your way home in the evening. You can store them in the refrigerator at No.31 and then simply use our microwave to heat them up for a quick and effortless breakfast the next morning.

Food & Drink Delights

🌶️ Thai Cuisine: Embrace the incredible flavors! Street food from busy stalls is a must-try.

💧 Drinking Water: While it's wise to use bottled water when you are out exploring the city, you can enjoy unlimited, highly-purified drinking water right here at No.31 thanks to our special double-filtration system. Ice in established restaurants and cafes is also generally safe.

🥵 Spice Level: Thai food can be fiery! You can request "Mai Phet" (not spicy) or "Phet Nit Noi" (a little spicy).

🍜 Food Courts: Found in most shopping malls (like Central Pinklao!), offering a huge variety of tasty and affordable Thai dishes in a clean environment.

A Note on Tipping: In most sit-down restaurants, a 10% service charge is often already included in the bill (check for it!). If it's not included, a small tip of around 10% for good service is appreciated but not mandatory. No tipping is expected at street food stalls.
