⭐ Our Recommendation for Most Travelers
For the best balance of cost and convenience, we recommend taking an Airport Limousine, especially when traveling in groups with luggage and kids.
For couples or small families (up to 3 people), we suggest using an official metered taxi from the airport taxi stand, or booking a car through the Grab app.
What: A comfortable, fixed-price service with a range of higher-quality vehicles.
Where: Official "AOT Limousine" service counters are conveniently located both within the Baggage Claim Hall (while you wait for your luggage, before customs) and in the main Arrivals Hall (Level 2, after you pass through customs). Look for their prominent signs.
Cost: While some new vehicle types may be advertised with starting prices as low as 550 THB for very short distances/basic vehicles, expect approximately 1,200 - 2,500+ THB for a journey to the Pinklao area, depending on the vehicle type chosen. The price is fixed and quoted upfront.
Time: 45-75 minutes, depending heavily on traffic.
Benefit: Hassle-free, comfortable, often with English-speaking staff/drivers, and no need to worry about meters or tolls (usually included).
For Booking in advance please visit AOT LIMOUSINE
Where: Official taxi stands are located on Level 1 (Ground Level) near Gates 4 and 7. Follow the "Public Taxi" signs.
Process: You'll likely get a ticket from a machine indicating your taxi bay.
Cost: Approximately 400-600 THB (metered fare + 50 THB airport surcharge + any expressway tolls). Tolls are usually 25-75 THB per tollway. The driver will ask if you want to use the expressway ("highway") – it's usually faster.
Time: 45-75 minutes, depending heavily on traffic.
Tip: Have the address in Thai ready. Ensure the driver uses the meter ("meter, na ka/krap"). Taxis in Bangkok are cash-only.
Airport Rail Link (ARL): Take the ARL from the basement level of the airport to Makkasan Station (City Line, approx. 30 mins, 35 THB).
From Makkasan Station:
Option A (Taxi): Take a taxi from Makkasan directly to No.31. (Approx. 150-250 THB, 30-50 mins depending on traffic). Remember taxis are cash-only.
Option B (MRT):
ARL (Airport) → Makkasan Station → (Walk) → Phetchaburi MRT → Bang Yi Khan Station
Walk from Makkasan ARL to Phetchaburi MRT station (a covered walkway, approx. 5-7 mins). Take the MRT Blue Line (towards Lak Song via Tha Phra) to Bang Yi Khan Station (approx. 40 mins, 45 THB). From there, you can take a short taxi to No.31. If you're traveling very light and prefer to walk, it's approximately an 8-minute walk to No.31 (Bangkok pavements can be uneven). Alternatively, a short taxi ride is a convenient option, especially with luggage. This option is efficient but involves a short walk between train systems.
You can get the train map here
Where: Official taxi stands are located outside the arrivals hall of both Terminal 1 (International) and Terminal 2 (Domestic).
Cost: Approximately 350-550 THB (metered fare + 50 THB airport surcharge + any expressway tolls). Tolls are paid by the passenger in cash.
Time: 30-60 minutes, depending heavily on traffic.
Tip: Have the address in Thai ready. Ensure the driver uses the meter. Taxis in Bangkok are cash-only.
A1 Bus: Take the A1 bus from outside the arrivals hall towards Mo Chit BTS/MRT Chatuchak Park.
From Mo Chit/Chatuchak Park: Take the MRT Blue Line (towards Lak Song via Tha Phra) and get off at Bang Yi Khan station. From Bang Yi Khan, it's best to take a short taxi to No.31, especially with luggage. This option is very budget-friendly but can be slow and less convenient with luggage.
Grab is widely used in Bangkok and can be a convenient option from both airports and around the city.
You can book a car through the app. Airports have designated pick-up areas for ride-hailing services – follow signs or check the app for instructions.
Fares are generally comparable to taxis (sometimes slightly higher, especially during peak hours or high demand) but are shown upfront in the app. Payment can often be made via the app with a registered card, or sometimes with cash to the driver (check app settings).
Thai Baht: Ensure you have Thai Baht in cash. Taxis and bus in Bangkok operate on a cash-only basis for fares and tolls. While some services booked via apps might allow card payment, cash is essential for general transport and many local purchases. You can exchange money or use ATMs at the airport.
Tourist SIM Card: Consider getting a Tourist SIM card at the airport for data, easy communication, and using ride-hailing apps. These are readily available in the arrivals hall from various providers.
Traffic: Bangkok traffic can be unpredictable, especially during peak hours (roughly 7-9:30 AM and 4:30-7:30 PM). Please allow extra travel time.
Walking with luggage in Bangkok: Pavements can be uneven and crowded; wheeled luggage might be challenging in some local sois (alleys). Consider this when deciding whether to walk from the MRT station.
Landmarks: We are located on Charansanitwong Road, near the Borommaratchachonnani junction in Pinklao. For taxi drivers, mentioning nearby major landmarks such as Pata Pinklao or Central Pinklao can be very helpful in addition to our full address. If you say "Pata Pinklao" (พาต้าปิ่นเกล้า - Paa-dtâa Bpin-glâo) or "Central Pinklao" (เซ็นทรัลปิ่นเกล้า - Sen-tran Bpin-glâo), most drivers will know the general area.
What to Expect at the Airport: When you exit customs at either airport, you'll enter a busy arrivals hall with counters for SIM cards, currency exchange, and transport. Take a moment to get your bearings before heading to your chosen transport option.
If You Get Lost or Need Help: Please don't hesitate to contact us, your host. We're happy to help guide you or speak to your driver.
